What makes Water sports special.
Weligama suits beginner surf from November to March with board hire from about USD 10 per hour. Arugam Bay on the east coast peaks from June to August with stronger breaks and more crowded line-ups.
Kalpitiya lagoon runs kitesurfing from May to October when winds are steady. It is a three-hour drive from Colombo, so we usually pair it with Wilpattu safari rather than a southern beach loop.
