What makes Trekking special.
Little Adam's Peak above Ella is a 45-minute walk each way on a paved trail; start before 7 am to avoid heat and tour groups. Ella Rock is steeper, muddier after rain, and needs a guide if you are not confident on unmarked paths.
The Knuckles Range west of Kandy needs a full day and a licensed guide; leeches appear in wet months (October to December and March to April). Horton Plains and World's End open at 6 am; cloud usually closes the view by 10 am, so a 5 am leave from Nuwara Eliya is normal.
