What makes Birdwatching special.
Sinharaja Forest Reserve holds most of Sri Lanka's endemic birds but needs an early start and a park guide; rain is common year-round, so waterproofs matter more than zoom lenses.
Bundala National Park suits flamingos and waders from November to March. Kumana, near Yala, is quieter for breeding colonies but has limited lodge choice.
